I18n: The Office

Even if you are setting up a purely remote company with only remote CxO positions filled and no employees on board yet, your office service provider must provide you with an address that functions as your official business address, because not only will your customers want to send you letters, but so may the tax authorities or other official state or federal agencies.

You will need a postal address for all written correspondence. Keep in mind that many customers will want to pay you by check! The age of the stagecoach may be gone, but digital speed is the enemy of financial liquidity for many of your customers.

Nowadays, you can start a business without a fax number—but being reachable by phone is a must. So you need your own phone number and an office service provider in the right time zone who will answer calls for you and forward messages.

I will write more about this in July/August – check back soon!
